Trace State Park, also known as Old Natchez Trace Park, is a state park in the U.S. state of Mississippi named for the nearby Natchez Trace trail. It is located off Mississippi Highway 6 approximately 7 miles (11 km) east of Pontotoc and approximately 7 miles (11 km) west of Tupelo. Frontiersman Davy Crockett once lived within the area bounded by the park.[2]
Activities and amenities
The park features boating, waterskiing and fishing on 565-acre (229 ha) Trace Lake, 10 primitive and 52 developed campsites, cabins and cottages, 35 miles (56 km) of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and off-road vehicles, picnic area, and an 18-hole disc golf course, Old Warrior Run.[2]
