The 2016 United States House of Representatives elections in Maryland will be held on November 8, 2016, to elect the eight U.S. Representatives from the state of Maryland, one from each of the state's eight congressional districts. The elections will coincide with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. The primaries were held on April 26.
District 1

The 1st district includes the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland as well as parts of Baltimore, Harford and Carroll counties. The incumbent is Republican Andrew P. Harris, who has represented the district since 2011. He was re-elected with 70% of the vote in 2014 and the district has a PVI of R+14.
Harris had considered a run for the U.S. Senate, but chose to seek reelection.[1]

Sarbanes considered running for the U.S. Senate, but has decided to run for re-election instead.[9] 2014 primary challenger Matthew Molyett had filed to run again, but has since withdrawn.[2]
