The University of Palangka Raya (Indonesian: Universitas Palangka Raya, abbreviated as UNPAR), was established in November 10, 1963. It is the first and the oldest state university in Central Kalimantan. UNPAR consists of seven faculties, most of them located at the main campus building, Kampus Tunjung Nyaho,: Teaching and Education Science, Economics, Agriculture, Engineering, Law, Social and Political Science, and Medicine. Currently, the university rector is Dr. Henry Singarasa, M.S..
