Valery Pavlinovich Shantsev (Russian: Валерий Павлинович Шанцев), born 29 June 1947 in Susanino, Kostroma Oblast, is the governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast since August 2005, when he replaced Gennady Khodyrev.[1] He was previously the deputy mayor of Moscow. Shantsev led the 2012 Olympics bid for Moscow.
Personal life
Shantsev was born in 1947, and was a factory worker.[2]
