Vescovato (Corsican: U Vescuvatu) is a commune in the Haute-Corse department of France on the island of Corsica.

Its name derives from the Italian term for "bishopric". (Italian: vescovadocode: it is deprecated ) According to Lucien Auguste Letteron (a Corsican Historian), the name would originate from the Bishop of Mariana, Opizzu Cortincu (1218-1260 ?) who founded the new village.
