William H. Berry (September 9, 1852 – June 19, 1928) was a former Treasurer of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. He also was the mayor of Chester, Pennsylvania shortly in 1905, before resigning to run for Treasurer.[1] Berry was born on September 9, 1852 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Berry died on June 19, 1928 in a hospital in Chester.[1]William H. Berry also served as Collector of the Port of Philadelphia. His son, US Marine Major Benjamin S. Berry, served in World War One, and for his actions on June 6, 1918 in Belleau Wood was awarded the Distinguished Service Order, the Navy Cross, and the Croix de Guerre from the government of France.[2]
