Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 38.8 square miles (100.6 km²), of which 38.8 square miles (100.4 km²) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.2 km²) (0.21%) is water. The primary settlement is the village of Worcester.

As of the census of 2000, there were 902 people, 346 households, and 251 families residing in the town. The population density was 23.3 people per square mile (9.0/km²). There were 396 housing units at an average density of 10.2 per square mile (3.9/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.67% White, 0.55% Native American, 0.33% from other races, and 1.44% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.89% of the population.

There were 346 households out of which 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% were couples living together and joined in either marriage or civil union, 8.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.2% were non-families. 18.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 2.96.

In the town the population was spread out with 26.4% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 31.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.6 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $39,732, and the median income for a family was $48,750. Males had a median income of $32,083 versus $27,083 for females.
