Anderson "Drew" Ferguson IV[1] (born November 15, 1966) is an American dentist and politician who is the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 3rd congressional district. A Republican, he served as the mayor of West Point, Georgia.
Ferguson was born in Langdale, Alabama in 1966[2] and graduated from the University of Georgia, and the Medical College of Georgia.[3] He served as an alderman for West Point, and then as mayor of West Point from 2008 through 2016, when he resigned to focus on his race for the House of Representatives. He defeated Democratic Party nominee Angela Pendley in the November 2016 general election.[4]

Tax reform
Ferguson voted in favor of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.[9] He says that middle-class families will get tax relief and that the bill will enable his middle-class constituents to save more money and that the bill will "positively impact your life." He claims that the bill will simply the tax code and remove "existing loopholes" that "can only spur economic growth."[10] He says that the tax bill "creates an environment where businesses and innovators can grow, create jobs and increase wages for hard-working employees."[11] He called the passing of the bill a "absolutely a great, great step for America."[10]
Social issues
Abortion
Ferguson believes that "life begins at conception." He supports defunding Planned Parenthood at both local and national government levels.[12]
Cannabis
Ferguson opposes the legalization of marijuana.[13]
LGBT rights
Ferguson opposed the federal government's decision regarding bathroom bills. In response to the Obama administration telling public school's to allow transgender people to use whichever bathroom they prefer, Ferguson said “Common sense has fled the addled brains of our nations leaders. Kickstands to the left, hoo ha’s to the right. We don’t need the President to make this decision for us.”[14] He also opposes same-sex marriage.[15]
Personal life
Ferguson and his wife, Elizabeth, have four children.[16]
