Heinz Harmel (29 June 1906 – 2 September 2000) was a German Brigadeführer and Generalmajor of the Waffen-SS during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.
