Zee TV is an Indian cable and satellite television channel owned and operated by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, a media and entertainment company based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.[1] It majorly airs programmes in Hindi and other regional languages of India. The channel is also available in various nations of Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australasia and North America. A part of the Essel Group, it started to broadcast on 2 October 1992 as the first Hindi-language cable channel in India.[2]

Overview

The channel mostly airs content intended for family and coming-of-age generations arranging from comedy to drama.[3] It also aired reality shows such as Shabaash India,[4] Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,[5] I Can do that[6] India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj[7] and Dance India Dance.[8]
