The 2016–17 Rangers F.C. season will be the club's first back in the Scottish top-flight in four years, following their promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2015–16 season.[1]

Month-by-month review

May

Rangers completed the signing of midfielder Jordan Rossiter from Liverpool on May 13th for a compensation fee of £250,000.

On May 20th Jamie Mills left the club to join Stirling Albion. On May 23rd it was announced Nicky Clark had left the club after three seasons. On May 24th it was confirmed Nicky Law and David Templeton had left the club with Nicky Clark. The same day, it was confirmed that Joey Barton had joined Rangers on a free transfer from Burnley.
