Clometerone (INN) (developmental code name L-38000), or clometherone (USAN), also known as 6α-chloro-16α-methylprogesterone, is a synthetic steroid and derivative of progesterone described as an antiandrogen and antiestrogen that was never marketed.[1][2] Based on structure-activity relationships, clometerone is likely a progestin, antigonadotropin, and antiandrogen, similarly to the related drugs chlormadinone acetate and cyproterone acetate.
