Contents
Background
After his exploration of pop standards on his last album, Engelbert focused on the German and European markets, employing German disco music producer Jack White to create an album of synthesized, internationally-flavored songs. Four of his past hits were re-recorded in the new style: "Release Me," "There Goes My Everything," "The Last Waltz," and "After the Lovin'."
Production
- Producer: Jack White
- Arrangements: Mark Spiro, Ed Arkin, and Uve Schikora
- Mixed by: Jürgen Koppers
- Design: Ariola-Studios
Packaging and title
The title means "dreaming with Engelbert" in German. Almost an hour of music is packed onto a single disc, so the LP record likely has a narrow dynamic range and low volume.
Release
Träumen mit Engelbert was released in Germany and Europe by Ariola Records in both LP and CD formats. Its equivalent counterpart With Love was released in Canada by the Quality Records label that same year.
